What is a psychoanalytic clinic?
The experience of being "foreign" — foreign in another culture, foreign to another language, and foreign within ourselves as an altogether new way of existing — encourages us to listen sensitively to the issues of interculturality and the unfamiliar that reside within each of us.
This experience abroad puts us in direct contact with what we call, in psychoanalysis, the Other. The Other is not just another person, but represents the realm of language, culture, and rules that welcome us into the world and shape us as individuals. It is the address of our most intimate discourse. When immigrating, the encounter with another language and another culture makes this dimension much more concrete.
However, this experience is not exclusive to immigrants. We are all, in some way, foreign to ourselves. The analytical journey is, in itself, a movement of opening to unfamiliarity. It is an invitation to listen to oneself in a new way and reposition oneself in relation to one's own story.
As psychoanalyst Mirta Goldstein said:
"The subject under analysis is an immigrant, migrating from one subjective position to another."
Thus, based on the experience of shared training, combined with personal analysis and supervision, our objective is to offer online services guided by the ethics of psychoanalysis.
